Tower Lane Water Booster Pump Station - Amherst, Ohio

Water pressure in the southwest portion of the City of Amherst had been consistently lower than in other areas of the City and was not adequate to fill the new elevated water storage tank. The City of Amherst contracted with Brunkhorst Engineering Consultants, Inc. to prepare detailed construction plans and specifications for a booster pump station to fill the new tank. The booster pump station has two (2) forty (40) horsepower pumps that are each capable of filling the new tank at a rate of 900 gallons per minute. The speed of the pumps will be controlled by a variable speed drive and the pump station will be monitored with a telemetering system which monitors the other water booster pumping stations in the City.

Bids were received in December of 2000 and this project began operation in May of 2001. The total construction cost for the booster pump station is $125,350. Brunkhorst Engineering Consultants, Inc. provided construction engineering services for this project.
